Summit Tree Stands
Any tall guys own a Summit Open Shot Deluxe Tree Stand?
I am considering buying this climber stand. However, I’ve read several reviews where people have said that the stand seems a bit small for bigger guys.
I am about 6′1″, 195 Lbs. I actually like smaller stands and was just wondering if there are any taller guys out there that have an opinion about this stand. I really like the open design of this stand. I don’t want one that has the arm that wraps around the front of the stand.

I can’t comment on the open shot, but I use the Summit Viper for all my bowhunting. You can shoot off the left side of it without standing up. And like you I like my stand to be a little on the smaller side because they make better bow stands. Some are just too large to shoot over the side while sitting down.You can also shoot off the front while sitting down, but the seat has to be pushed all the way to the front and you have to be sitting close to the edge of the seat( a little uncomfortable) but it can be done. I would love to be able to hunt with the open end stands but I consider the front bar on the stands to be a safety factor that is desirable for me.I’m willing to give up a little for safety’s sake. But get what you wish to get. Just make sure it is a summit- They are great stands! And over the years I’ve used them all, and I consider Summit the best on the market.
