Ridge Hunting
How many of you hunt out of a hunting camp, or is it what I call a city.?
A hunting “city” is where you have like 10 guys go up on a ridge and set up a cook wagon or shack, living quarters, generators, electric lights , bar….the whole shee-bang for a week or so
I have seen these and actually stumbling into one that helped me get my truck fixed when I broke down like 50 miles in….they had a bon- fire that was 10 feet across and like flames 8 or 9 feet high
The snow was 2 feet deep, wind blowing 40 miles an hour and it was 14 degrees out…this was high on a ridge in the cascades
Dances with Mops……I have seen that photo !
XYZ…….ya they have a little more respect for folks when they are that deep with no radio……..
Hunting camp for us is in an area with no cell phone service, 35 miles of rough dirt roads to the nearest town, nearest camp is so far away you can see there smoke but that is it. 2 or 3 small tents without generators or heaters. When the Game Warden comes around in the evening he is much more polite than he was earlier in the day when he sees the pile of beer cans
