Pflueger Underspin Reel
Pflueger fishing reels?
I have a Pflueger underspin fishing reel and when reeling in you have to keep tension on the line to reel the bait or lure in. If you don’t then you’re just reelin and the line doesn’t come in at all.
I wanted to know if this is supposed to happen?

no, it isn’t supposed to happen but does, particularly if the line is aging or is too heavy.
it just remains in a large loop under the cap and the line pick-up(s) just spin around beneath the loop without picking up the line and reeling it in.
it is a good idea to hold a little tension on the line anyway as you will get a better cast when the line is wound on snugly. in addition to your drag working better.
