Which rifle is the better combo for deer hunting in NC why?
Remington Model 770 Sporter Bolt Action Rifle 85633 or Savage Model 111FXP3 Bolt Action Rifle 18556 I am already set on getting a rifle in 30-06 caliber so which on do you think is the better package all the reviews I read call it about the same everyone likes both. The Savage is a little bit cheaper but not enought to sell me on price.
DO NOT get the Remington 770. They are garbage. Junk. Disposable rifles that last maybe a year or two. Same as the older model 710. They have nowhere near the quality of the Remington Model 700. The Savage is the much better rifle of those two. .30-06 is a classic deer hunting cartridge. It has more power than you will ever need for NC deer, but who cares? The recoil is more than manageable, and with it, you can more or less hunt anything anywhere in the country. If you are on a tight budget, also look at the Stevens model 200. It is made by Savage as well, but can be had for under $300 if you find a good sale. It is just the old Savage 110 before they added the accutrigger. Good luck, and good hunting.
p.s. Really, stay away from the 770. It really is junk.
