Hunting Ammo Shortage
Is there a shortage of .30-30 ammo going on?
I know gun and ammo prices are inflated and that there’s been a lot of hoarding the recent past but is there something else going on? Did ammo makers shut down .30-30 production lines to make more popular ammo or something?
I’ve been to Wal-Mart, some big retail stores and a few private shops but I haven’t found anything. Lots of .223, .308 and some .270 and 30-06 but no .30-30. I live in Oregon and I’m used to being out of the loop compared to the South and the midwest when it comes to shooting and hunting but is what I’m seeing a trend?
not to my knowledge, but it may simply be that the guys who stock each individual store are so used to hunting out the ’standard’ rounds in this ammo shortage that they haven’t glanced over and found that the 30-30 shelf is bare.
