What’s the point of life if you take no joy in living?
I’ve seen people ask what the point of life is on Yahoo! Answers, but I’m looking for something more complex. The idea of heaven and hell aside, what is the point of living a life you can’t enjoy? And I’m not taking about being depressed or having a woman turn you down, I’m talking about people who suffer chronic pain or mental illness or are handicapped beyond repair. Why should we be expected to live out a life with no chance at fulfilling greater goals or even gaining a bit of enjoyment from our time here?
