Year Seven English homework, is this ok?
Hey, I’m in year seven and for my English homework we had to write an article about Why The Rhinos are Extinct.It had to be for a really young audience, (5-7 years old) Is this all right?
Once there was a type of animal called the Rhino.They lived in faraway places like India, Sumatra, Borneo, Nepal, Vietnam and Africa.They were hunted for their horns,which some people believed to be magical. They were used in many Chinese medicines. They also died out because the place where they lived was destroyed.
They became extinct (they all died out)in the year 2013, because the people, who hunted them, cut off their horns and killed them. It is a shame that they are extinct, because they were amazing animals.
Is it all right?

EDIT: You have to imagine that we are in the future and looking back on why the Rhinos died.
We have to use really simple language as well, because, as I said before, it is ment to be for a young audience.
I’m a high school English teacher, so I don’t know if I could work with a younger audience- but here are my suggestions…
Smaller kids are supposed to like repetition, so I would repeat the word Rhino’s instead of they (so they could remember what the animal is) Also, I would be specific when using the pronoun “They” for example, “Their horns were used” and “The rhinos soon died out because their homes (habitat might be too big for them) were destroyed.”
Also, you might want to leave some of the faraway places out- maybe keep the more well-known countries like India and Africa. (Although I teach HS kids and they might not even know India HA!)
