Affordable Pocket Knives
What is a good folding knife?
Looking for a good quality, decently affordable folding knife. Budget is $50 or less. Seems like Buck gets a lot of praises as a company, not sure which new model or reliable older model to look into, however. Looking for every day practicality, on my person daily (side/back pocket), partially serrated, and whatever other good features may be offered. Not sure about the details of the laws so i’m not sure how close Spring Assisted runs to a switchblade, but something that is opened (in a practical manner and with some ease) with one hand would be preferred.

Assisted opening knives are restricted in many jurisdictions. A local reseller can usually help point you in the right direction.
I own several Benchmade, Cold Steel, Kershaw, CRKT, SOG, Buck and Sypderco knives. (Yeah, I got carried away for a time.) I like the clip knives much more than the old-fashioned pocket knives. They’re not trapped in your pocket, pinned by your seatbelt should you be in the rare need of them after an accident to cut yourself out of your seatbelt. They also don’t get lost in the collection of cell phone, keys, change and whatever else you’ve dropped into your pocket that day.
I would recommend the Spyderco Delica. It’s right at $50, has a large thumb hole and opens easily, has a good quality blade, wears well, and is available with or without serrations. I have carried one for about ten years after replacing one I broke prying (no-no).
